I was sick a few weeks ago with a stomach bug, and I spent the day in bed watching one of the Discovery networks. I love to watch educational programming because I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. This was one of the programs I saw, and it was so amazing and fascinating and touching. I found it on YouTube when looking for videos of Marc Yu to show some of my students what is possible when you practice piano 8 hours a day. I made a playlist of all 5 segments of the program - it's almost an hour long, but worth watching in every way. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Fall is a season of warm colors and frosty air. Take advantage of this wonderful time of year by bringing your child out to our studios, and take classes t...hat will develop your child's language skills, literacy, listening, problem solving, social skills, self-esteem, and musicality.
Bobby McFerrin demonstrates the power of the pentatonic scale, using audience participation, at the event "Notes & Neurons: In Search of the Common Chorus", from the 2009 World Science Festival, June 12, 2009:
In this uncertain economy, our family has decided to give the best kind of gifts this holiday season by continuing to invest in our children's education through Kindermusik. It's really a gift for the whole family (even when Sophie wants us to do the same activity over and over and over again!)
The videos in this playlist should help you to gain a better understanding from other Kindermusik parents just what makes our program so great. We hope you'll join us for the spring semester (or anytime, really!)
Here's a neat musical excerpt that I heard through the grapevine. Merri over at Masterworks Studios in Decatur, GA is a fellow Kindermusik educator and Blogger. She shared a really awesome YouTube video of a man named Jono Callow playing a variety of percussion instruments from around the world, as well as a "slide didjeridoo" from Australia. He creates a unique one-man-band with all these instruments, and I know you will enjoy this video!
My husband plays world percussion and didjeridoo, so we're quite familiar with all these strange noises at our house, but I've never seen them combined in quite this way. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, Merri!
Spring Recital Video Clips.... - Sunday, June 15, 2008
There are still a couple of missing videos, because my husband unloaded one of my camera cards onto his computer, but here's a player with most of them, if you want to watch.... :) I didn't capture every student (my camera memory isn't big enough) but I caught some of the more memorable performances. If you have videos of your student's performance you'd like to share, please send them!
