Spring Break Closure and All State Information - Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Please take note:

Harmony Music Studio is closed March 16-22nd in accordance with the Clear Creek Independent School District Spring Break. There will be no classes or lessons during this time.

Have a safe and happy break, and we'll see you when we reopen on March 23rd.

All-State Junior Festival 2009

Eligibility: Superior Rating (Gold Cup Junior Festival)

Date: Saturday, May 16th, 2009

Time: Time slots are assigned after registration

Location: San Marcos, TX (Texas State University)

Entry Fee: $26.00 per event (NON-REFUNDABLE)

Deadline: March 31, 2009 (NO EXCEPTIONS)

The All-State Festival is an opportunity for each student to compete against other students state-wide in their event/level. It is sponsored by the Texas Federation of Music Clubs

The music is chosen from the list created by the National Federation of Music Clubs and posted in the Festivals Bulletin. Solo events are required to perform one song from memory. Duets and Hymns may use sheet music while performing.

Vocalist and Instrumentalist events will be responsible for an additional accompaniment fee. The accompanist will meet with each student for at least 2 private sessions to practice, and then travel to San Marcos to be available for the student in private auditions as well as the All-State Recital performance, in the event the student is chosen as the All-State Musician.

All-State Festival update:
Congratulations to all the students who qualified for the All-State Festival competition this year! The State chairman will be posting assigned performing times on May 8th. We will contact the students who registered for the State festival with their times as soon as they are posted for us. The festival is on Saturday, May 17th, 2008, and will be held at the Texas State University Music Building, in San Marcos, Texas. You can find driving directions to the university at Google Maps using this link: Driving Directions to Texas State University. There are many hotels nearby for those wishing to spend the night. Here are a few: Hotels near TSU San Marcos boasts many attractions, including the Prime Outlet Mall on Hwy 35, the Aquarena, river tubing, and many other exciting things to do. All-State Festival Dates - Wednesday, March 7, 2007

The annual Texas Federation of Music Clubs All-State Junior Festival will be held in San Marcos this year on Saturday, May 19th. Please see your teacher for information about your assigned performance time. More information can be found at The Texas Federation of Music Clubs Website.
